For the love of St. Jacobs Country

these are some places that took my breath away..

My heart loves the country

and this is my beloved St. Jacobs Country..

This countryside is part of where we spent our holiday..

Cheery lunch and swan-watching in Stratford

We had a cheery, scrumptious lunch at

York Street Kitchen in Stratford

*

This was mine..all mine   :)

If I remember correctly I think it was a turkey club..

it was big and it was yummy!

Em had his own but we each had half of each others

*

We ate inside because it was a bit dreary outside

and was looking like rain

*

Im sure they have decorated with just about every colour under the sun in this "cheery" little place..

So cute!

After lunch ..off to the Avon River

to swan-watch and stroll along the waters edge

There were lots of these majestic creatures

here that day...and I couldnt have been more thrilled!

We regret that we didnt catch sight of any black swans this time...

*

Extremely beautiful...and not without friends...:)

*

*

We spent part of the afternoon window-shopping in the rain,

which was actually quite lovely..

I even got to use my new scottish-terrier umbrella

that one of the beautiful couples ( that got a puppy from us) bought me as a gift..

It is adorable and it was so thoughtful of her to bless me with it..thank you Marina  xo

Before supper we drove through the town and just enjoyed

looking at buildings and homes and such

*

Then we had supper at The Sunroom

although it had changed ownership and the meal we were soooo looking forward to having

was no longer on the menu.

in fact, the whole menu had changed :(

But things like that happen..

and so we'll find someplace new..

 even change can be new and exciting..

at my age Im finding  that out and Im

enjoying it actually  :)

So all in all the day spent in Stratford was quite lovely,

even with the rain for company..

Started with DQ and ended with DQ!

En route we stoppd at this Dairy Queen

and had a delicious lunch!

I can tell its summer when...

Im craving ice cream

We had cheeseburgers and fries

and for dessert ....

a mini blizzard...

cookie dough is my favourite!

My hubby has big hands doesnt he?!

I call them "mitts"! 

*

I dont know about you but I find that my appetite increases in the summer-time..

There seems to be too many yummy things that are "right-in-your-face" all summer...

*

Our trip began with lunch at DQ along the way

and we actually stopped there again at the end of our travels..

*

My hips and thighs cant wait until summer is over,

but until then..

 Ill try to focus on how I love the sunshine,

warm days,

gorgeous flowers,

fun summer outings...

*

and then... come the end of August

those summer treats

will be summer memories... 

Well I can always hope...  :)

Tuesday Tea

Its Tea Time!!!

Ok Im going to be honest with you...

coffee is really my cup of tea

*

Having said that...Im confident that thats ok with my girls  :)

*

So Im having a "Timothys" Columbian coffee

now and I have to say its has become my very favourite

*

Im still enjoying my Keurig machine

and using it everyday with great happiness :)

Today was my first day back at work since our holidays

and I was glad when the shift ended..

I think perhaps I had gotten a little too relaxed... :)

I have a feeling that summer & holidays will do that to you  :)

Its late afternoon here and its beginning to rain lightly

and Im getting sleepy and would really love to have a little wee nap

*

Oops..change of plans..

my boys just came home from throwing some hoops (basketball)

and they want Tuesday nights special...pizza

so forget about that nap

*

Tomorrow Id like to start sharing more with you about our trip

but for tonite

its pizza with our boys

and relaxing with a cool fan close by

and maybe even a movie at home together..

sounds like a lazy summer evening

*

Sweet sweet summer fun!

Hunny, Im home!!! And by "hunny" I mean you..my sweet girlfriends  :)  I've missed you all!!

Our holidays were as refreshing as my feet look in the cool water

up in Haliburton, Ontario

*

With the sun beating down on you..it sures feels great to cool down a little with your tootsies in the water!

*

Spending the end of our trip at the cottage was so relaxing...

The serenity of nature at its finest

*

The sun dancing off the water...

the haunting sound of the loons

leaves you longing to hear their call again and again..

*

Lounge chairs beckon us to come and stay awhile

and to just "be still"

 and to just enjoy

the beauty of quietness.

*

We can hear so well when we still our body, mind and spirit

*

And funny how we tend to just pass by the familiar things

and so often miss seeing whats really there

*

then suddenly...we see whats been there all along

*

when we slow down in our busy lives and be still

we discover lifes wonders and their Creator

*

(in this photo..its a little white frog that blended so well with his surrounding at the cottage, we almost missed seeing its beauty

*

And for the early part of the morning

we were blessed to see the lilies in their splendor

opening up to the sun

*

How exquisitely tender this flower is.. 

and even the lily pads

 are beautiful in themselves

*

I have much to share with you

and many photos,

but for tonight..

I was just so glad to spend the day back at home

visiting our children, unpacking and washing and hanging clothes in the sun,

and enjoying a home-cooked meal which our son made for us,

after having already taken care of our 3 dogs and 2 of their puppies for the last 8 days...thanks so much Adam xoxo
