Saturday morning fun and treasures found

Happy Saturday my friends!!
It was supposed to rain today ....
and even though it was 100 percent sure,
according to the weather report,
I was hoping it would at least
hold out until after garage-sale-ing today.
After all, I'm not generally off on a Saturday
and I sure wanted to go with my hubby.
As you can see by my photo, it did rain,
but not until we were comepletely finished
our garage sale adventure today!!
:)

What do you think of this chair?
I saw two of them,
and I knew right away
that there were a must for our home.
They are strong, a bit rusty,
and perfect for our back yard!
I will be on the look-out for some
shabby chic cushions for these.
I love them ..and they are amazingly sturdy and well-made.
They were a total of  .50 cents (for the two of them)!!

I love them..
and they were just waiting for me..
:)

Look at this!!
Its almost 2 feet high and I fell in love with it instantly!
Its old, made of galvanized steel,
and full of character.
I'm picturing it out in the yard filled with summer blooms!

It's shabby,
and it was only $1.00.
Can't wait to fill it with earth and summers lovelies!

I've been looking for a wooden ladder
and saw one today at one of the homes
we visited for a garage sale.
It was in their garage along with other sellables.
The lady said she didnt know if it was for sale.
But before we left that house, my hubby
went over and talked to the-man-of-the-house and asked if he would sell it.
Out he came with ladder in hand, and put a smile on my face as big as a smile could be!
He paid $5.00
and made me one-happy-woman!!
That was so sweet of him to ask ..
he went above and beyond for me,
and I made sure he knew how much I appreciated that special gesture!
:)

I don't reallly want to paint over the wood,
so Ill try to get rid of the paint and keep the original beauty of the wood.
Its destination?...either living room or our bedroom..
Oh, btw, I'm painting our chamber room white too!!
Yippeee!!
:)

And this crocheted tablecloth
drew me..
I love it,
and it may become our new kitchen curtains!
Although its kind of a beigy creamy colour,
it looks nice against white..
and white will be the colour I paint the kitchen
very soon.
It cost $1.00
No complaints..only happiness.
:)

And last, but not least,
these 2 antique tins
were calling out to me.
They are very nice
and I plan to put them in the kitchen.
The total of these two was $10.00.
This was the most expensive purchase, but
considering all we picked up for such good prices..
I'm okay with it!
It was such a fun morning,
and in between garage sale-ing
we went and had pancakes for breakfast.

Tonight we are having a bbq at our sons,
even though its raining.
That won't keep us from getting together and having fun.
Rain or shine...
family fun time.... in all sorts of weather!
:)

Hope your weekend is fun-filled!!!
I'd love to hear how you spent your weekend
:)

Breakfast for two and home-making

Good morning sweet friends!!
It's beautiful and sunshiney here
in my part of the world
and I couldn't resist
cooking up some french toast
for hubby and I
and serving it on our little cafe bistro
out on our deck...

French toast
dusted
with icing sugar on top
and some sprinkled on the plate
with sliced strawberries..

Do you see a heart in that berry? :)
It wasn't intentional
but I  love  that it turned out that way!
:)

On my days off, I love making breakfast for hubby and I,
and now that the sun has come closer..
its even more motivating.
Wipe off the glass table and throw the clean tablecloth on,
bring out breakfast for two..
and enjoy the sun
and
one anothers company
in the morning xo

It is worth the extra little effort
to create
something special
to begin our day
:)

Sunshine is shining in  its fullness,
and
time to wash some curtains..
I've washed my living room sheers so many times
that I can't even count.
But I love when they're fresh
and smell so clean.

I sewed them myself years ago,
and they are still holding up,
even with all the washing.
I call them tab curtains
and I paid under $20.00
to make them.
It was a deal for sure...
:)

Dining room and living room curtains
blowing in the wind..
is there a more peaceful, satisfying sight?
I adore hanging clothes in the summer,
always have..
since I was the littlest girl..
I would love to hang clothes and watch them blowing in the wind.

These darlins' have an alterior motive for being outside..
Bella & Kenzie love the outdoors,
and they love to see whats happening around the neighbourhood.
I have a hard time getting Bella to come back in the house..lol
Come take a closer look at Bellas' bottom half!!

Yep, she's in heat again,
and thats her diaper... shall-we-say.
Her tail is sticking out,
and she's not crazy about wearing it,
but she doesn't resist too much.
And her hubby, Kenzie is right by her side...
wonder what his motives are...lol
:)

Kenzie is our handsome,
playful,
sweet boy xo

Curtains are now hanging again
in their rightful place,
living room is clean again
and its time for
refreshment...

Join me for a cup of chai latte
made from a package,
in addition to heated milk
and
a quick frothing...

Mmmmmm...
Cheers to a beautiful day
to all my sweet friends...

How was your day?

:)

With all my heart...Deborah xo
