A few more days and it'll be officially
summer!!
I've already begun the celebration :)
It's my favourite season of the year
and enjoy it I must...
day by day,
moment by moment
:)
On my days off,
today being one of them,
I treasure the moments...
When I have nothing in particular planned for the day,
(don't you just love days like that?!)
I love to create...
today I filled this jar
(which my hubby picked up for me at a garage sale)
with seaside shells
that a precious friend picked up for me while she was in Miami
last month.
Love her and love the shells she blessed me with xo
Thank you Sabina!!!
One can never have too many shells!
:)
Ok so where was I?
Oh yes, days off...
I've always adored baking since as way back as I can remember...
Baking is relaxing and enjoyable
for me
on my days off...
Hmmmm what shall I bake?
How about brownies?
Yum, yum!
These are so easy
and it is made with cocoa...
You can find my recipe for the brownies here I also made a blueberry topping to dollop on top
of each serving.
Recipe will be posted at the end of my post
:)
Brownies all baked...
easy peasy..
and yummy-wummy!!
In between the baking..
some housecleaning,
and some dreaming.
Decorating has always been in my bones...
and its my way of relaxing too...
doesn't have to be expensive,
just changing things up a bit
brings such pleasure
:)
I adore dried flowers
as much as fresh blooms!
So put the dried in a different container
and
get a new fresh look
Decorate a little,
then back to the kitchen
to prepare some spaghetti for supper...
Okay, leave that to simmer,
hmmmmm
while I'm waiting
let me see how my garage-sale find will look
on my window
:)
Remember that crocheted tablecloth
I got at the garage sale last Saturday?
I'm planning on making it into curtains
for our kitchen.
I've draped it over the window to see...
After our holidays, I'm painting this kitchen
white
and I'll have these as our new (used) kitchen curtains.
I like!!
The sun is shining
and its gorgeous outdoors,
so come on lets go
and have dessert out there!
I made enough for you...
so come on, take a seat!!
Brownies with home-made blueberry sauce...
I'd love to share it with you....
:)
This is how I love to spend some of my days off
Now for that recipe
for the blueberry sauce...
~Wash 2 cups of fresh blueberries,
set aside.
~In a pot, put 1 tbsp cornstarch and 1/3 cup of cold water together,
~Stir,
~Add the 2 cups of blueberries,
1/2 cup of sugar.
~Stir gently but thoroughly.
~At medium heat, bring to a boil.
~Reduce the heat and let boil for 1 minute,
then set aside to cool for about 10 minutes
~Serve over the brownies while warm
(Also great over ice cream, pancakes or waffles)
You could re-heat it if you want it warm for later,
or have it cold.
Enjoy!
~
I always enjoy your company
any day of the week...
visiting with you girls
is like
a breath of fresh air
:)
You're always welcome here!
How do you enjoy your days off
or just a special day to enjoy?
I'd love to hear!
All my love,
Deborah xoxo
