Projects, Surprises and Mysteries

Hello sunshine!
:)
I just wanted to come and have a little chat
with you all
before sunset tonight.
I've had a busy two days off,
but they have been  productive.
We've been doing a bit of renos
in the little apartment we have
on the side of our home..
getting it ready for a new tenant.
My beautiful Dad
has been helping with those renos.
He's 81 years young
and so young at heart
and in great shape,
and is always willing to lend a hand.
I painted the apartment yesterday...
its kind of a sage green
and I really like it...
its so neutral
and it goes great with the new white cupboards!

Today I wanted to get started on a new project!!
I'm giving a new look
to a beautiful drop-leaf table
that I was given.
My beautiful friend, Stephanie
offered me this gorgeous table!
The table was a special one in her family,
and so her generosity
is even more touching to me. xo
Thank you my kindred friend!
:)

This is something new for me...
re-finishing furniture;
but I decided what I wanted to do with it.
I'm sanding it down,
except for its gorgeous legs,
and then staining it with a stain
called "white wash pickling stain".
And I'm going to paint the legs with chalk paint
I'm really excited about it!!!

I've gotten advice
from my sweet friend,
Sandy
from

She is such a dear heart,
and has helped me with
ideas for painting my home,
and decorating
and
now with this project too!
Her friendship always blesses me,
and I'm sure many of you know Sandy.
She is an expert at refinishing furniture
and
her painting style is just so beautiful!
I always oooh and awwww
at her creations!
Go visit and you'll see!!
Thank you dear friend!!!
xo

In the midst of my busy day,
a nice man came to our door
with a parcel in hand.
It seemed liked Christmas!!
And it kind of looks like Christmas
with the bright red box!!
:)
As soon as I saw what was written
on the outside of the box
I knew it was from
my Sweet Sarah!!!
I won Sweet Sarahs giveaway...
now if you haven't met her,
you must!
You'll find her at
and I'll tell you,
you'll want to stay!!!
There's a reason I call her Sweet Sarah...
its cus she IS so sweet!
Thank you so much Sarah....
I will treasure these beauties!!
They are the cutest cups
and I plan on giving them a
special place in our kitchen...just you wait and see!!!!
They are right on the top of my blog on the left hand side
if you want to see!
You know..the place where I'm bragging that I won such a gift!!
Lol
:)

Now in the midst of this oh-so-busy day,
I was given a moment,
one of those stop-you-in-your-tracks moments.
One of those... stop and be still,
and ponder on the beauty
and the mysteries right in your midst
kind of moments.
Normally I want to just get rid of
spider webs,
but this one made me stop
and wonder and just be thankful
and be amazed
at such a mystery...
God in my midst,
and the intricacy of a spider web.
Thank you Creator God
for speaking to me in my busyness
\0/ xo

My window box has been such a blessing all summer
with those pink blooms..
I still love looking at it on the deck
Thank you Emerald (my hubby)
xo
:)

My sun lady is all full of dust from me sanding today,
but shes still smiling.
How was your week?
Any projects, surprises or mysteries to share?
:)

With all my heart...Deborah xoxo

Head over Heels

Okay, so I'm in love with white....
Living rooms white,
dining room too,
and now..
our kichen is white..
I'm loving all the whites!!

Its so fresh & clean

A few months ago I had painted my beadboard
and my pantry cupboard
in chalkboard paint...
not "chalk paint".
I have to say I didnt really like it...
at least not on those two things...
so when I painted the kitchen I couldnt wait
to get to the beadboard
and give it a clean slate,
so to speak!
I absolutely love the white on it!
So, I feel like I'm starting over..
with my kitchen.
I'm changing things up in there.
Nothing thats really going to cost any money
except for some chalk paint I'm ordering
for a few projects I'm looking forward to doing :)

Take a peek at what I found at a garage sale about a month ago.
I thought it was cute right from the start...just as it was!
I love beadboard and this is just adorable.
It opens up and has three shelves in it for storage.
Ok...
 but theres more...
Well you know that saying...
You had me at "hello"?

Well, you had me at "Beadboard"!
Lol

Look inside...
storage,
and you'll never guess what for!!!

Look at the back of it!!!

Here I was just about to begin putting on a fresh coat of paint...
my favourite~antique white

It opens up to a wooden ironing board!!
Isnt that perfect?!
I love it!!
How compact!!!
I use it when I need it for a quick ironing job and then fold down the board
and back against the wall it goes
as a beautiful little cupboard with storage!
And that...girlfriends...was $6.00
at a garage sale.
I was so thrilled and proud
to be bringing this little
beauty home with me!!

In fact,
I would even go so far as to say,
its one of my favourite garage sale finds yet!!

What do you think girls?
Its got a dual-personality
and I like
both sides of her
:)

I'll keep you posted as I re-invent our kitchen..
the process is so exciting!!
How about you?
Have you started any new projects in your home..
I'd love to hear!

Much love,
Deborah xoxo
