To Market we go!

 

Good morning!

Is there anything more refreshing then a  summer farmers' market?!   

I love them!

The  flowers,  the  colours,  the  treasures 

waiting to be found ...

Fresh summer  fruit!

Raspberries!!!!  (my favourite!)

And  peaches....delicious! 

 

Pineapples...yum!

 

And fresh  country corn on the cob...

and cute little (kinda big)  bystanders!

Hi there...you look thrilled to be here!   Lol 

This one made me miss our pooches at home!

Sunflowers...I wish I could have taken these home,

but we had a few more days of traveling before we headed home .

They were gorgeous!

Cider, and more  fresh fruit and.....

fresh lavender!!!

Yep, I  got some...(lavender that is)  :) 

 

 

Veggies  galore,,,,

and this n' thats.

 

We've been on this  horse drawn tour befre

and loved it.

It heads into the back country road while the driver is telling about 

the beautiful people that live around here...the  mennonites.

It even stops at a mennonite home

 and you get to stop and shop at a little room

 that they've added onto their home

 in which they sell 

quilts,

 and their

  homemade treasures.

Very enjoyable tour.

   

I could visit at least one a week throughout the summer

if I could!

My hubby and I usually spend a few hours here exploring,

enjoying, shopping,

and eating lunch here.

Love it!

Wilbur is that you?

 

While in St. Jacob's at the Farmer's Market,

we came across this little guy.

Isn't he cute?! 

He was just going about his daily business...

head to the ground...looking for something to eat maybe?

:)

 

He looks awfully familiar to me though...

hmmmmm

There's a fondness of heart for him.

I think he may be a  humble pig

 

He has a few friends close-by...

They look like fine friends to me

:)

 

But somehow I'm thinking ...

that this was one relationship that just

held an extra special place in this one's heart.

I'm so grateful for those extra-special

friendships we all share here!

And this special movie (Charlotte's Web)

is always such a tender reminder to me

of true friendship

An apple a day

 

Good morning!

Picture  fresh apples  

being sliced right before your eyes

   

As I  patiently  and  expectantly

waited in line....

There's always a  huge  lineup

for this at the  Farmer's Market

in St. Jacob's...

 

But it's well worth the wait!!!

Hubby said no I don't want one...

but when I got out of line with my box of two fritters,

he happily took one anyway!

Hmmmmm

I knew it...that's exactly why I got two!

;)

Maybe not the greatest for the waistline,

but

once a year

I look forward to this yummy treat!

I have  never  tasted a fritter that compares with these!

What do you think...would this be applicable in the old saying....

"An apple a day.....keeps the doctor away"?
