Summer rest

Isn't summer about...
carving out moments of peacefulness

times of restful moments

picnics by the lake
or just eating outdoors
as you enjoy the sun and summer breezes.

It's rejuvenating isn't it?

Our time spent together in Stratford, Ontario
was just that...
we found ourselves being ....
still by the peaceful waterside,
and in the late afternoon, early evening, as we drove along the Avon River,
we were greeted by these long necked lovelies.

One of them crossed the street and didn't want to leave...
so we waited and enjoyed
;)

We love being graced with the good company of God's creatures...
big and small

It's the simple things....
bringing joy,
bringing wonder.

Wishing you a gentle place to rest
this weekend.
See you in a bit..
I'll take you along to the market with me next visit!

Hugs!

All my heart,
Deborah xoxo

That's what summers are made of

Wicker and whites....
and
everything nice,
that's what summers are made of
;)

We've been and since come home
from our holidays...
and it was lovely.

Visits with family are always so refreshing,
and enjoying time together outdoors
is just such a treat...
especially in the summer.
It's interesting how summer
invites us to "gather".
One of the simple joys of this season....
there's warmth in many ways
;)

My hubby's sister and her hubby are always such fun to re-unite with!

My sister-in-law and brother-in-law are both
very talented.
She is an awesome mother, grandmother and homemaker.
She loves time spent in the garden
and I enjoy seeing her newest plantings
and blooms.
She makes preserves and pickles and jam
and all that yummy homemade kind of goodness.
She loves garage-sales!
(a kindred spirit)
He's an inventor and works with electronics
and he makes it comfortable just to be around him.
A loving father and grandfather...
just such a calm spirit.
They are not only family,
they are also friends.
I love that.

Her peonies are "to write home about".
Just lovely...
you know, peonies are one of my very favourite flowers...
if not, my most favourite.
They are almost too beautiful.
Does that make sense?
;)

I must plant some...
I must!

If the word
"
softness"
had a photo to describe it,
it would be a peony.
;)

Gorgeous in their beginnings...
and breath taking through every stage...

in their differences of style,
and colour

S o f t n e s s

I love how they seem to  welcome  summer
and then as they leave
they depart with a graceful bow...
almost like a ballerina.

When we leave our friends,
we always feel warmed
by their friendship and hospitality and beauty.

I'll be back to share more soon...
holidays are always too short for one chat with you!
:)

Oh I must tell you...
my hubby has started my shabby shed!
It's a life-long dream come true.
Grown ups can have child-sized dreams too!
I am beginning to see it unfold.
I can't wait to share the journey.
Love and hugs to each of you!

All my heart,
Deborah xoxoxoxo

Seasons greetings and Merry Christmas!

Wishing you all a blessed Christmas and the joy that can only come from Him. Winter is upon us here in Northern Ontario, Canada, but so far...
