Hens n' chicks and lunch with my pretties!!!

Hens n' chicks

in cheery buttery coloured ceramic clogs.

I've been adoring

the cute look

of

hens n' chicks

for a while now.

And today was the day...

I love them!

They're such cute little happy plants

and I knew I was going to have

a happy place for them,

right inside these clogs... :)

(I spotted these clogs while in Haliburton

at a quaint little shop )

I'm not generally off on weekends

unless my work rotation

goes that way,

but this weekend it was my turn

for the whole weekend off!

I was just like a little child....:)

I knew I was just going to have a great day

doing some fun things,

so I started the day

by going to a garage sale.

I spent a whole $2.00

and what I found was what I had been hoping for...

a couple of little chairs to go with my little glass table on our deck.

And there they were...just waiting for me...

calling my name..lol

Both were different coloured wood

but no matter...

they had a date with my white paint anyway :)

And it was such a beautiful day here, 

and paint I did !

I did a shabby paint job,

cus I like it that way :)

And then while they were drying,

I headed out to Value Village

for a vintage find.

I wanted a feminine,

pretty

tablecloth for my little glass covered table on our deck...

and

what do you think...

did I find it?

I did and Im more than a little happy with it.

Five dollars and this pretty baby was mine :)

And then I went looking for some

hens n' chicks

and found such beautiful ones!

I love these little plants..

they are the sweetest little babies!

Come see the other variety I got

Sweet...n'est pas?

I'm also looking forward to having

lunch for two

on the deck.

With pretty tablecloths,

and white summery dishes.

A light sandwich

and

perhaps a taste of my brownies

with raspberry sauce,

and then a nice cup of chai .

Sound good?  :)

We'll have to do lunch together

here on my little deck

with my pretties :)

Celebrations of the Heart

There are many celebrations

on this

 journey

of our lives...

and 

today

is one of those....

its my sons birthday!!

~

This adorable, chubby little face

is the face

of our first born son,

Adam.

I'm not sure whether he was 6 months or 9 months here..

A face that all you wanted to do

was squeeze his cheeks :)

Eyelashes that were so long,

he was mistaken for a girl sometimes.

When I was at the mall with him

when he was about 3 years old or so,

A woman commented on how

beautiful she was...

for which he quickly spoke up and said

one word..

"Adam"! 

It was the cutest little response and so matter-of-fact!

:)

Well...the years move quickly

and little boys

grow up into a little older boys...

and as the years pass,

the more they wrap their way around your heart...

 and that he did;

always the happiest little boy,

smiling all the time;

a joy to be around.

Always the incurable tease

and still is! lol

Funny,

and the life of the party!

Adam is on the right,

his brother Ryan (with a head full of curls :)

and their cousin Kristin.

He's my son,

and I couldn't be more proud of him.

He's so loving,

strong in so many ways,

kind,

supportive,

family oriented,

and working in a family oriented career.

He makes us all laugh

until our bellies hurt,

and I'm crazy about him :)

Happy Birthday Adam!!

I can't wait to celebrate with him next week

when my daughter and I

go for a visit to see him...across the miles xo

But there is another

Celebration of the Heart

which is...

that
I have the honour of being a "mother".

No other profession could I have chosen that could have brought me more

joy

than that of

motherhood...

and for this gift I am in constant gratefulness

of heart

to God.

My children...

my heart

 swells

 with love for them..

Yup

Freshening up a little

The beach has come

to our home.. :)

A favourite summer straw purse,

scented gel beads,

and a glass dish filled with white sand and sea treasures..

The only thing new was the sea shells and mini starfish

that my brother gave me

from Pottery Barn...

which are scented!

They smell so fragrant...

I love just shopping around our home

and

changing things up...

freshening up

here and there... :)

and market flowers...

Freedom and travel

open country roads serene...

Setting of sun,

and

thankfulness in heart

 at days end...
