Momma & daughters birthday party!

Two birthdays in the month of June..
could anything be sweeter?
Only if its mother & daughters!

My sister created a beautiful birthday party
for her own daughter and her grand-daughter.
Come on in and I'd love to
show and tell!!

My sister is a wonderful, loving Momma
to her daughter....
and her daughter knows it!
But now she has had one full year
of being the most loving "Mia".
Denise has a grand-daughter who has just turned one!
And to  her she is Mia!
I'd love to be called Mia if I was a grandma..
it sounds adorable.

Denise is the most precious "Mia" to Chloe ever!!
She showers her love on this little girl.
Loves her to pieces?
Oh definitely so!!!
Since her sweetheart lives out of town,
my sister talks to her every evening before bedtime on webcam.
Devoted?
You betcha!!!
I've seen them have their nightly visits and Chloe even tries to hug the computer.
Its so beautiful...
it touches me so to see how much they love one another.
xo
Okay, on with the show & tell!

The theme was "Tinker Bell"
because Chloe loves Tinkerbell.
My sister hosts the most beautiful get-togethers
for her family.

Everywhere there were touches of Tinkerbell
inside and outside too!

Denise had bought a special dress
and had Chloes' name embroidered on it..
she was the
 belle of the ball!!
:)

Chloe had so much fun
and so did all her family and friends
(it was an all-girl party!)
cus..
girls just wanna have fun!!!

Look at this precious necklace Denise made
for Chloes' first birthday!
I love it...so special!!

Supper was enjoyed out on the deck
with the sun shining on us all.

Everything was so, so yummy!!!
And we all gobbled it up!!

The punch went down too easily!!
De-lish!!
Don't you just love punch?!
And you know,
I don't think I get to drink it
other than at a party!!!

Karly is such a great Mommy to Chloe
and her love for her is written all over her face
and upon her heart.
What Karly didnt realize ...
was that Denise was having a surprise birthday party for her as well!!
Double surprise!!!
:)

Cake for Chloe..
and it was home-made carrot cake!
Denise made this too and had
a specially made top put on it..
yes, Tinker Bell!

Mmmmmm good!
Cake and punch!!

And skor ice-cream cake for
Karly!!

My Momma made her a couple of hats and a matching purse,
and a dress....
they are all so cute on her.
She's getting tired here..
All the excitement has made her sleepy
lol
She will grow into the hat...our Momma always sews things generously!
It looks like it'll fit her for awhile!
LOl

Everyone enjoyed celebrating Karly & Chloes party!!!
This is one sweet bunch of nieces..
and my daughter ,Cara in the middle.

What is it about children,
that they go through a stage that they love sticking their tongue out?!
Lol

No food in sight,
but I just gotta stick it out!
Lol

I guess we don't have to know the reason why they do it,
we just think
its so darn cute!!!

:)

Well shes all tuckered out now,
safe in Mias arms,
with a new little friend to cuddle with.

Thanks so much for visiting...
its been my pleasure
to share these celebrations of the heart with you ..
xo

With all my heart...Deborah xoxo

Four hands, two hearts, and romantic pink blooms

Good morning sweet friends!!
I hope you are all enjoying this summers day!
I am..even if its raining outdoors
:)

I am back to share what my hubby and I have joined hearts and hands to create.

We have an old chippy white door on our deck that leads out into our garage and then to the front yard.
I've wanted to decorate this door for a long time but haven't really found anything that caught my eye ...
until now
:)

We've also had some old chippy storm windows in our shed for awhile now
and I have used some in our home to decorate with...
I love them!
I also love window boxes...
hmmmmm
So why not?

Hubby got to working on it for me..
I was busy indoors and I heard the drill going
and
I ran to the window and saw this.
I jumped upstairs and shot this photo
without him seeing
to share this moment with you!
I gotta tell ya...
I love seeing him doing carpentry stuff...
it makes this heart go pitter-patter
:)

Anyway, heres how it came together...

I wanted it rustic and shabby-looking
so he took old pieces of wood and cut them into smaller pieces
and then drilled screws into the wood and through the bottom of the storm window base.
Then he put an extra longer piece of wood on the inside to make it more secure.

and then...

He did the same along the sides, and of course, made a bottom with some holes drilled in it for drainage when the soil gets wet.
The bottom of the storm window had a base as wide as the wood he used.

Then he drilled the storm window onto the chippy old door,
and looked at the big smile that was on his wifes face
:)

Then I dashed out to pick up some blooms..
but not just any blooms...
I wanted something that was romantic-looking,
pink,
and shabby-chic,
cottage-style
all-in-one!

Finished?
Not quite..

Alongside the back section of our little deck
hangs a heart wind chime
made out of clay
and I saw it
and juices started to flow...
(this photo is an older one when we had puppies)
So I wondered how I could maybe use this with my window box.
I took it down, washed it up,
tried to see what it would look like suspended from the top of the window
and
nope...

juices still flowing...
and
ahaaaaa!

Scissors came out,
strings were cut,
a n d

it perfectly came together
:)

Hubby started drilling them into the wood,
and so perfect that they already had little holes in them
from hanging from the wind-chime with string.
A little trickier than we thought though..
they were delicate to drill into the wood,
and hubby broke 5 hearts in the process.
I need one more heart to finish the box and so he is going to mend the broken heart
and drill it back on.

But I could wait no longer to share this
with you.
I heart it,
and the heart and hands of my hubby,
Emerald,
who made it for me.
:)

My theme for our yard
is
shabby-chic,
pink
and
romantic-style.

I'm still working on the rest of the little touches
for the yard.

Happy day!!!

With all my heart...Deborah xo

A Fathers Heart

The first man I ever fell in love with...
yep...
this is my father

He is still my dear Daddy
and always will be.
My precious friend and confidant,
a heart that always has room for his family,
and my safe place in the storm.
He's the one I love to laugh and play with..
yes, still!

My Dad has always had a free spirit...
he loves to fly and soar.
He had his own ultra-light plane,
also his pilots licence and he's taken us up in the sky for plane rides
when we were younger.
And at the age of 81 he still rides a motorcycle,
and goes on trips with it,
by himself.. sometimes,
and  other times with my brother and brother-in-laws.

Time shared with him is always sweet
and a blessing.
I love him more than words can express..
he's the most perfect father to me
and my family.
I love you Dad..
I honour you...
always & forever xoxo

Oh, and he loves the country too!
I'm my Daddys' girl!!
:)

Seasons greetings and Merry Christmas!

Wishing you all a blessed Christmas and the joy that can only come from Him. Winter is upon us here in Northern Ontario, Canada, but so far...
