Together is one of my favourite words

 

My daughter and I whisked off  together

this morning before 8.30 a.m.

out of town on a little road trip.

Not too far....just 1 1/2 hours away.

 

What started off as thunder and lightening

in the wee hours of the morning,

turned out to be blue skies 

for us when we left.

 

This is our closest  Starbucks

and I decided I was going to have a treat...

Peppermint Hot Chocolate!!

Yum multiplied by a thousand!

:) 

 

I've been doing so well on my 

Weight-loss journey 

so this was a special treat..

and I enjoyed it thoroughly!  

If you don't mind me sharing,

I've lost 9 lbs. 

so far. 

:)

I've been replacing my "love" for hot chocolate

with

apple-cinnamon tea....

but

on our way home,

I decided to just try a  decaf tea.

It was deee-lish!

I think I'm smitten girls.

Sooooo good!

 

I love  Chapters!

They have a great selection of books

and gorgeous gifts!

A must-stop for me when there is one around!

 

Lunch was a  pita

at  Pita Pit.

Yummy is not a good enough word for this!

We had ceasar salad pitas...

with a reasonable amount of dressing on them...

but the rest is veggies and a bit of cheese.

I had feta...she had shredded cheddar.

 

When we got to the mall....

It was  funny because she went straight to the hats!

I love the child in her!

It must be spring!!!

 

It looks lovely

on you, my dear!

I think I need to shed the "black".

I'm loving the "whites" 

and the fresh spring palettes.

  

My sweetie loves the wide-brimmed hats!

 

We were celebrating her birthday

and she picked out her favourite perfume.

 

She actually took her coat off for a bit..

not warm enough for me yet to do that.

 

Her smile lights up the room,

and my heart...

 

and her laughter

thrills me to pieces..

 

This is why 

together

is one of my favourite words.

 

 It rained on our way home,

but 

our spirits were not

dampened..

we were 

together

:)

 

How blessed am I

to have such beautiful moments

with the girl I  adore.

Dreaming and waiting and dreaming some more...

 

I'm  dreaming 

of creating a  haven  in our backyard.

An  inviting  spot where we can

retreat to, from the days busy-ness.

 

It won't involve a lot of money,

but it will involve some time,

planning,

and 

creatively using things we have on hand

around our home...

inside and out.

It's more fun and do-able that way.

Come on

and I'll share my thoughts with you...

 The second I saw this....

it was  adoration.

Isn't this beautiful?!

I asked my hubby if he could make this for me...

in our own version,

and he said "yes".

:)

I'm so excited!

 

 I'm a magazine-lover,

and sometimes I have to say,

that you find a real "treasure"

of a read,

and this was one of those.

I know magazines can be expensive,

 so I try to control myself,

but I'm so glad I gave in on this one.

It's called "Flea Market Gardens"

and it was last summers shelf find.

 

 Those are succulents on top of that potting shed

and aren't they just the cutest little plants ever?!

They are hardy too!

My hubby loves ice-fishing and he makes his own ice-shacks

 He also makes some in his spare time to sell,

 so I know he can make me a sweet little shed

that will fit perfectly in our average-sized back yard.

It's actually a side yard, because we live on a corner of a street.

He fenced it for me a few years ago,

so 

I'd stop asking him 

the dogs could have some run & play room.

Lol

Now they have room,

and everybody's happy.

:)

I have a clothesline,

which can just be pulled out of the ground and tucked away.

Flowers  above  ground level

would be a great alternative,

so curious doggies can't get to them.

I have some ideas for that too.

 

I love flowers and watching them bloom,

so I will find a way

to have them and doggies

living together happily.

Hubby will make a little potting bench too,

so I can have  clay pot fun.

Clay pots have so much potential

and they seem to be just

beckoning me to create with them,

paint them,

and add beautiful greens and blooms to them.

I'm ready for some

gardening.

It's time, wouldn't you say? 

I'll be back to show you my little potting shed,

when hubby gets started on it.

We have to wait for the spring though...

but I am dreaming while I'm waiting.
