Back to the drawing board

Remember this desk?
The road-side find?

Well I painted it black
BUT
I wasn't really very fond of it :(

So I'm thinking on going to a creamy, old, worn look..
so I guess
I'll be starting over again.
~
It's destined for my computer/quiet room..
The wall colour is kind of a chocolate latte colour,
and
the curtains I have look similar to burlap in texture but are actually more of a wheat colour.
My accents are kind of country\farm style.
The floors are hardwood.
Any ideas for the new colour of the desk?
I'd love to hear your thoughts!

This is the curtain colour and the wall colour...
Any ideas or thoughts?
I'd welcome your considerations...
and thank you..

When the ordinary becomes EXTRAordinary...

I'm still creating with much-loved treasures
that I've had around for years..
like this old wooden, weather-worn ladder
which at one point my hubby
made a wooden heart for..
just to make this ladder special for my daughter to play on it...
~
I've always loved it
and I've invited it into our shabby living room
~
and

While visiting my parents this afternoon,
I found my momma out in the back pruning a flower bush she has..
she hardly stops for a minute..she's a busy lady :)
We had some pumpkin muffins and a sweet visit
and as I left she said she had something for me...
Hydrangeas from her garden....
Oh Momma..you remembered that I love dried hydrangeas!
I left there with a heart happily warmed by her thoughfulness & love,
which pleased me even more than those much adored flowers

~

and

While visiting my sister Denise,
she gave me this thoughtful white gift!!
How sweet and unexpected!
Her & hubby had gone east on a vacation recently and she saw it there
and picked it up for me.. :)
She blesses me so!!
Wanna see?

I'm showing you from my bedroom nightstand right now
but it's headed for our living room
once I decide what photos to share in it...
Isn't it cute?!
Every time I gaze on it
I'll smile
and think of Denise
and her kindness..
Thanks Neesi!!!
~
Don't you love it when the pieces in your home
have a special story or memory behind them?
It makes them
all the more meaningful and precious

Autumns Treasures...

The acorns and leaves are extra special this year..
they were picked by a special little boy named
Brandon ...
he's my sons girlfriends' little treasure...
and a treasure he is..
~

He picked then for me off of our leaf and acorn-covered lawn
~

This is my baby boy ..
Ryan...I mean
the handsome young man in the blue t-shirt... lol
This is the one who writes "I love you"
on my windshield
and blesses my heart so..
these are the little things
that are really big things
and the sweetness lingers in my heart...
~

This is my other simple,
autumn touch...
Wheat, acorns, leaves and pumpkins...
and some little pumpkin and leaf potpourri..
it smells so good
~

I haven't found my white pumpkin yet..but when I find it Ill
hold her tenderly to my bosom
and take her home :)
