The lovely Niagara on the Lake

One last glimpse at the  Falls!!!

Ok, we're ready....

come on, we're off to  Niagara on the lake!!!

Here we are arriving in downtown Niagara on the lake

Oh my hearts skipping beats!!

I love this place so!!!

I can't describe how pretty it is!

So, I'll try to show you some of its essence..

I love walking in the heart of Niagara on the lake.

I really think its a town "well-named"

 "Prettiest little town in Canada"

So many romantic spots to eat..

theres a lot of "outdoor eating " here.

I adore that!

I think that all of Niagara

love the sun & the beauty here!

Even if its a little spot outside,

thats still fine.

:)

Lots and lots of cute shops

Some shops were harder to resist than others...

Take a peek...and grab a tissue!

Now why dont apples like these grow on trees?

Ok, I'm going to be ruthless here..

Thats not what they're called I'm sure,

just my version of a pronto pup or a corn dog!

Ok I'm going in once last time!!!

Do you see something with waffles on it?

On the left!!

I do!

I love waffles, waffle cones,

just about waffle anything!!

And I'm not sure what they are to the far right..

cookies, muffins..

whatever they are..they look yummy!

And guess what?!

I didn't even go in here!!!

What? You don't believe me? Lol

I didn't really....it was almost lunch

and I didn't want to spoil my appetite,

so I was good.

Ok..moving along..:)

Lots of shops where you can buy

 Niagaras world famous wines

Lovely little shop

With this adorable and interesting fountain

Beautiful displays and artwork & shops.

And so much more!

Niagara on the lake is absolutely gorgeous

in its beauty...

Here is a park right by the downtown area

And their bed & breakfasts'

are astounding!

I always book well in advance

to make sure we get one!

If you've never tried a b&b

they are wonderful.

I always do my research online first and check them out.

When we're here we usually stay at a b&b for two nights,

and my biggest requirement is our own bathroom,

which most of them have.

Some have shared bathrooms, and thats ok,

but we'd rather stay at one where we have our own ensuite.

We've never stayed at one we didn't enjoy,

and we've been trying different ones every year now.

But I do have a favourite,

and if you ever want to go to Niagara on the lake

and stay at a b&b,

write me an email and I'll tell you! ;)

Heres a b&b I've always admired from the outside,

but we've never stayed here..

just beautiful.

It's my style..I adore  porches!

I believe this b&b is called "The Doctors House"

and below is the side view

I'm not sure if this is a b&b but I love the look of it,

so I snapped this photo.

Isn't it pretty?

I love shutters,

and people seem to love homes with lots of colour here..

they are beautiful!

Ok, when in Niagara on the lake

we must go to Kurtzs' Orchard.

So come on!

We love to go inside the Kurtzs' shop

and grab a sandwich and drink

and sit out here and enjoy

Yep..right at this picnic table!

:)

They sell jams, and all kinds of chows,

and vinagrettes,

and all kinds of gourmet foods!

Yummy!

All right, we've had a bite to eat,

so let's go to the Niagara Parkway

to feast our eyes on the beauty of the Niagara River!

I love, love, love the Niagara Parkway!!!

I love gazing at this!!!

Theres lots to do here for the adventurous!

Sea-dooing anyone?

Theres also jetboat rides..

yikes!

Not for me!

But Im sure its fun and exciting!

The Niagara Parkway is the perfect place to bike!

But one of my favourite spots is this gazebo..

we love to come here and just sit

and usually have a picnic here too...its so calming

and refreshing by waters edge.

So if you're ever wanting to go to a truly romantic,

pretty,

and totally peaceful place.....

you'll know where to go...

in fact, its a perfect spot for a honeymoon!

The Broken Roads of our Lives

Falls View

Hi!!  :)

How has everyone been enjoying the summer?!

Its hot but lovely here...lovin' every minute of it too!

Care for a trip with me ...again? :)

Ok hop in ..we're leaving my beloved St. Jacobs now

and we're off to

Niagara !!!

Fasten your seatbelts girls!!

We arrived at our bed & breakfast

on Friday afternoon..

a new one,

one we had never been to before.

I always make the plans for our holidays

and my hubby likes it that way.

It's so fun to plan,

and b & b's are a treat!

This b & b is lovely

and it is owned by a lovely Thai couple.

We enjoyed our stay here,

and we were very comfortable.

The sunlight was streaming in our window

and

we relaxed and freshened up

before heading to meet our sons

at the  Falls.

Fresh white towels in baskets..

lovely!

We met our sons in

Niagara Falls

and walked to a restaurant

to have supper together first...

Buffets...yummy!

Too many choices!!

And "dig-in" we did,

especially the boys!

Ummm I was the only female,

so thats 3 boys including my hubby

all diggin-in!

Lol

One of our sons asked me to go up on this ride

with him...

Did I go?

What do you think?!

Ok...no I didnt go on that ride...

I had visions of it stopping to let people off

and we'd be at the very top...waiting and waiting....

overlooking

 those

 wonderful,

 spectacular,

waterfalls..

hmmmm I probably should have!

I think I lost my nerve for these things

a long time ago.

Seems to me I remember going on a double-ferris wheel

in my youth,

and loving it!

Now we're walking to the Falls area...

still with me....

are you afraid of heights?

well even if you are,

perhaps you'll get  caught up in the beauty of them

and  abandon  the fear.

Isn't it spectacular?!

Ok ...so I'm kidding...my silliness overtakes me sometimes

and I wanted to get a giggle out of you!

This boat below the Falls

is called

The Maid of the Mist.

It circles the bottom of the falls.

Everyone on the boat are wearing

blue raincoats

because of the great mist

from the falls.

Now as we look over from Niagara Falls

and look straight across

we look at "Horseshoe Falls"

which is on the United States side.

As I looked over at these smaller falls

I thought of all my blogging friends who live in the United States

and I was filled with love & longing

to go over and see you all!!

Ok here comes the closest shot of

Niagara Falls!!!

I was pretty well looking right over the edge of this,

behind the guard rails, of course.

Breath-taking!

See the rainbow?!

This was where me and hubby went on our honeymoon

:)

And these are two of our sons

and we were so glad to meet up with them for the evening.

They spent the evening in Niagara Falls

and we went back to our b&b in Niagara on the Lake,

which is only about 15 minutes from here.

Try to keep cool..

it's supposed to be really hot tomorrow

and humid.

I'm off work tomorrow, so I'm planning to have plenty of cool drinks,

a couple of fans going all through the day here,

and maybe watch a movie,

(snuggling with our 4 dogs and one little visiting dog)

instead of getting all tuckered out doing housework in the heat.
