Good morning angels!
Speaking of angels....doesn't this sort of look like one?!
I captured this sight while rolling down country roads
with my brother in Collingwood, Ontario.
Take me home country roads...
that's really what these gentle places do to my heart.
We enjoyed the quiet rides down these roads for part of Saturday morning
and then found a cozy spot to eat lunch.
We found ourselves in Creemore which is a little town close by.
Notice anything here?!
These are the same beautiful, gorgeous, friendly little flowers I found for my container gardening this summer!
I recognized them here as we were going to eat lunch...
and I told my brother.
He actually knew their name!
Wow! Impressive!
Portulaca...my favourite garden flower this summer!
A few of you told me the name of them this summer, when I wasn't sure
what they were called!
:)
Interesting door in downtown Creemore.
I have a thing about doors, and this one struck me as being worthy of a photograph.
I love arches ...they add so much to doors, walls, windows, etc.
Our leisurely afternoon continued and we just enjoyed
the stroll and the sights and the "being together".
We were wrapped in the beginnings of fall colours, and the feel in the air
of this season upon us.
There were some flea-market-type stores here
and we checked them out.
A lot of items from yesteryear.
Closer to supper time we headed over to our hotel
in Collingwood.
We were all set to settle in our room and then find a nice spot to eat supper....
Reservations had been made...
for here...
but we had to change our plans after being told our room had been cancelled.
Here we were...bags in hand,
confirmation number
and then told that our room had been cancelled.
By whom? Wasn't us?
We were dumbfounded and kind of stranded because there was a bike tournament
in town and apparently hotels were booked.
We were diappointed at the way it was handled because there were no real efforts
to make things right for us.
I noticed a Days Inn across the street
and suggested that we take a look there.
They (Days Inn)were very gracious but their rooms were full as well...but
they did recommend a b & b .
I called when we got to our car...
the response we received was almost overwhelming!
:):):)
You know I had searched for b & b's while preparing
for this trip, but we couldn't find anything suitable with two beds.
That's the reason my brother and I then decided on a hotel.
But oh my goodness ...how our plans had changed
with this
inconvenience???
Our disappointment at The Holiday Inn Express
turned into God's appointment
at the Beild House Country Inn!
Stephanie was so kind, so gracious;
she just bent over backwards for us!
Our room or should I say "suite"
was just absolutely perfect for us!
This is a view on our little porch balcony on Sunday morning.
The church across the street was a beautiful reminder of
God's hand in all of this.
\o/
Our unexpected change of plans...
turned into something quite beautiful
and suited just right for the two of us.
We each had our own bedroom, along with a quaint little living room
and our own bathroom to share.
Comfort & kindness...
makes for a good nights sleep.
A sitting room...a quiet place to curl up with a friend and a good book!
And she had told us she would have some treats
waiting in our suite when we returned from supper.
Dessert...okay that was the icing-on-the-cake so to speak!
Hahahah
Pancakes, sausage, yogurt and fruit was my choice
for breakfast..
and it was just dee-lish!
We were just so happy to have been
taken in with such a welcome,
and kindness everywhere.
From every angle, we have been so blessed.
Thank you God for always thinking of your own,
and thank you
Beild House Inn & Stephanie
for your hospitality.
The rest of our weekend was fabulous!
As I shared in an earlier post, we went to
The Blue Mountain Village
and we just savored every moment of our time together.
I'll treasure our weekend memories in my heart.
I love you David, my life-long friend and brother.
Hugs & kisses, and then more hugs...
and we were both on our way back to each of our homes...
sad to leave, yet so grateful for time away together.
And I, with company in my back seat for the ride home....
yes...
my white pumpkin!
from the road-side farmer's market that I discovered
when I was about 5 minutes from first arriving in Collingwood.
Well, of course, I turned around and drove back to see those
gorgeous white babies calling out to my decorating "self".
:)
I'll show you her in another post!
Love & hugs to you my sweet friends!
All my heart,
Deborah xoxo
